PRESENTATION DR FRANÇOIS-XAVIER TERRYN

After completing his training in general surgery at hospitals accredited by the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), he obtained the title of specialist in general surgery in October 2020.
With a strong scientific interest, he then worked directly as a fellow in the endocrine and bariatric surgery department of Prof. François Pattou at the Lille University Hospital. François Pattou's endocrine and bariatric surgery department at the Lille University Hospital, an expert centre in obesity surgery. It was there that he and Prof. Robert Caiazzo jointly created the "Rencontres franco-belges de chirurgie bariatrique", an online symposium open to all that allows bariatric surgery enthusiasts to exchange with internationally renowned experts. Dr François-Xavier Terryn joined the general and digestive surgery team of the Europe Hospitals on the St-Elisabeth site in November 2021, where he works full time. His main field of interest is obesity as well as functional pathologies of the stomach (gastro-oesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastroparesis).
He is also an active member of the multidisciplinary team of the Obesity Clinic on the St-Elisabeth site. With a wealth of professional experience in several Belgian hospitals, but also in Luxembourg, Germany and France, he can take care of patients speaking French, Dutch, English and German.
