About the neurology department
Neurology is a medical discipline that deals with organic disorders of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the peripheral nervous system (nerve roots and peripheral nerves, muscles and neuromuscular junctions).
The department of neurology is divided between the two Europe Hospitals sites and is responsible for the management of primary disorders of the nervous system including memory and other cognitive disorders, headaches and migraines, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, vertigo and balance disorders, facial pain, cervicobrachial neuralgia and lumbosciatica. The department features an ESO certified stroke ward at the St-Elisabeth site for the management of acute stroke.
