DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW PCR METHOD
The Clinical Biology Laboratory of the Europe Hospitals is pleased to announce the development of a new PCR method, offering rapid detection of the following respiratory infectious pathogens:
- Bordetella pertussis (BP)
- Bordetella parapertussis (BPP)
- Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP)
- Chlamydia pneumoniae (CP)
- Legionella pneumophila (LP)
This new technique is based on the use of real-time PCR, capable of providing multi-Ct (threshold cycle) values in a single fluorescence channel. This enables simultaneous amplification and detection of the target nucleic acids, providing an accurate method for diagnosing respiratory infections.
