Dr. Bogdan DIMA Appointed Head of the Pediatrics Department at the Europe Hospitals

Le Dr Bogdan DIMA

As of May 1st, 2025, Dr. Bogdan DIMA has taken on the role of Head of the Pediatrics Department at the Europe Hospitals.

Dr. Dima graduated from the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, where he trained in Pediatrics between 1995 and 2001. Early on, he developed a strong interest in Pediatric Nephrology and joined a leading team in Bucharest specializing in pediatric dialysis and kidney transplantation. In 2009, he moved to France to further his training, notably through an inter-university diploma (DIU) in Nephrology offered by the Universities of Paris, Nice, Lyon, and Montpellier. He subsequently worked at the Compiègne Hospital, where he served as the Pediatric Nephrology referent.

In 2011, he moved to Belgium, joining the “Marie Curie” University Hospital in Charleroi, where he spent six years developing a specialized practice in collaboration with the urology and radiology departments. In 2017, he moved closer to Brussels and joined the Europe Hospitals, within the Pediatrics Department at the Ste-Elisabeth site. Together with his colleagues, he helped establish a structured care pathway for children with urinary tract malformations, working closely with imaging, urology, and gynecology services. In parallel, he continues to provide consultations in both general Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology. Since 2022, he has also served as a certified clinical supervisor in Pediatrics for both UCLouvain and KU Leuven.

As Head of Department, his mission is to continue developing the Pediatrics Department, expand the range of care services offered, and strengthen the recognition of the Europe Hospitals as a pediatric reference center for the south of Brussels as well as parts of Flemish and Walloon Brabant.

Dr. Dima succeeds Dr. Brigitte Verbruggen, to whom we extend our sincere thanks for her dedication and the many achievements made under her leadership.

We wish Dr. Dima every success in this new role, in the service of children and their families.
