Support for the Friends of the Europe Hospitals Fund
Are you familiar with the Friends of the Europe Hospitals Fund? This is a project run by our teams, whose founders are Dr Albert Veys and Dr Charles Scheid, with the aim of helping the hospital's medical services to improve the patient's experience of care.
Our current projects:
The integrative care pathway in oncology: We want to improve the experience of patients undergoing One Day oncology treatment at our 2 hospital sites. By offering them a chance to escape for a few moments during and after their treatment, we hope to have a positive impact on their daily lives. Our integrated care pathway includes: access to fitness or creative activities, a moment of celebration at the end of treatment, a cocoon kit for their return home, theme days and a varied, up-to-date library.
The creation of a new games room in Paediatrics: This project involves providing a new games room for our paediatric patients by creating a large central room at the heart of the care unit. This space would welcome patients and their families to play (to distract themselves and leave their rooms), to bond (to play with parents and siblings) and to recharge their batteries (to return to calm after a difficult time). We hope to include in the project a provision for the specific needs of certain children through inclusive design.
