Digital dermatoscopy / mapping

This medical examination is intended for patients who are difficult to monitor with traditional clinical and dermatoscopic examinations.

Patients who exhibit between 50 and 100 nevi, including atypical nevi, require this type of examination to monitor their lesions through time. It is indeed sometimes difficult to distinguish an atypical nevus from a melanoma in its early stages. Patients with a personal medical history of melanomas or a family background of melanomas can also undergo this type of examination.

Generally, the first appointment lasts 40 minutes, which is enough time to review the medical history and perform an in-depth medical examination. Total body photography and the first dermatoscopic pictures are taken during this initial appointment. The patient comes back three months later to assess the short-term evolution of the lesions. The patient then returns on a yearly basis, or before if necessary. By comparing the photos taken of the nevi, the lesions that are evolving can be targeted
