Lasers

Lasers are very special light sources used in the treatment of vascular and pigment disorders, as well as for epilating or abrasive dermatological treatments.

The main indications, for which the Department of Dermatology uses laser treatments, are:

  • Pulsed light, flash lamp (LUMENIS ONE) for treatment of:
    • Superficial vascular lesions: birthmarks, rosacea, spider angiomas, cherry angiomas...
    • Pigmented lesions : Actinic lentigo, freckles, café-au-lait spots and Becker-nevi.
    • Facial rajuvenation
  • Yag 1064 nm (LUMENIS ONE) for treatment of:
    • Deep vascular lesions : varicose veins and larger and deeper reticular veins of the lower limbs.
  • Nd Yag Q-Switched (LUMENIS ONE) for treatment of:
    • Tattoos :  non-professional, professional or traumatic tattos.  Only in case of black or dark blue tattoos.
  • Laser diode (LIGHTSHEER) for treatment of:
    • Pathological or unwanted hair: Hirsutism, Hypertrichosis, epilation for aesthetic reasons or for comfort considerations. White, blond and gray hair as well as ‘bum fluff’ are classic contra-indications.
