What are the different steps of a fertility assessment?

When a couple has been trying to conceive for more than a year, the gynecologist will initiate a fertility assessment. This includes a sperm analysis for the partner, a hormonal assessment for the future mother, and an examination to check the uterus and fallopian tubes. In case of pathology, the doctor will either correct and treat the issue if possible or encourage you to consider intrauterine insemination or in vitro fertilization.
