Knee surgery
Arthroscopic interventions (exploratory operation) aiming at resecting or stitching meniscus tears, reconstructing joint ligaments (anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments), treating cartilage lesions (cartilaginous cell transplantation or bone dowel transplantation), as well as open surgeries, are all part of the skills mastered to a tee by your surgeon, who enjoys a broad experience in these matters. For the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, “minimally invasive techniques” have long been used in terms of prosthetic surgery, and unicompartmental, bicompartmental and total knee prostheses are routine interventions.
More recent evolutions in the field of materials, which are individually customised for each patient, are already included in our range, which is a completely novel feature in Belgium. Computer-aided navigation can be used, as is the case with hip surgery.
